It was found in the strong room in the Chief Clerk’s office in the old H.Q. in Jordon Street, Preston and was rescued and re-bound by the then Chief Clerk, Mr. W.W. Thornton in 1936. The book purports to be compiled with permission, from official documents and contains a royal coat of arms. On page vi, can be found a three page advertisement for the book itself.
